Shubha Poonja is an Indian actress and former model who predominantly works in the Kannada film industry. Born in Mangaluru and brought up in Bengaluru, she began her career with modelling and television advertisements and won the Miss Chennai Top Model title in 2003. She made her acting debut in Tamil cinema with Machi (2004) and entered Kannada cinema with Jackpot (2006). She rose to prominence with films such as Chanda, Moggina Manasu and Slum Bala, with her performance as Renuka in Moggina Manasu earning her the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Kannada. She has since appeared in several Kannada films, including Anjadiru, Thaakath, Kanteerava, Jai Maruthi 800, Naragunda Bandaya, Ambuja and 3Devi. Shubha also gained renewed popularity through Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8, where her candid personality helped her connect strongly with audiences.
